Depicting various animals, modes of transport, foods, objects, plants and people, the naive work in gouache on paper signed Wadall (?) lower right is humorous in tone with an elongated man, a trio of marching penguins and a figure with a cat for a head amongst the various portrayals.
Presented in a somewhat garish, but somehow wholly appropriate gilt frame, this intriguing painting is in very good condition, the frame original and the glass un-marked.
Retaining a childlike innocence and charm, this jovial picture represents a witty celebration of life, rejoicing in gaiety and tomfoolery and would make good not just for a conversation starter but also as an investment in unusual vintage art.
