The late Victorian period pine carcass with the original period black painted finish having an arrangement of two short and three long drawers sitting on small bracket feet and with the original cast metal drop handles.

The draws glide relatively smoothly, the whole sturdy and in good original order. The paintwork, commensurate with age has quite a few areas of flaking and loss, showing the pine underneath, especially to the top, though this is of course part of the appeal. Structurally she is sound with no areas of concern. The feet and handles are all original though the handle to the top right drawer lacks its swing component, though the drawer can still be opened and closed OK. We have waxed her to retain the current patina and finish.

Old honest paintwork is a joy on hard working chests like these, fabulous patina.
