The large and well-drawn wingback armchair in the George III style, having mahogany ball and claw front feet, scrolled arms and a good shaped and flared winged back with central hump, the whole ready to be upholstered and surviving from the first quarter of twentieth century England.

The naked condition is clean and sound with no restoration or repair needed or required, she is tightened and strong with a good colour to the mahogany and it is ready to be reupholstered; we are able to upholster in any fabric of your choosing at cost; please just ask for a quote.

The original purpose of the flared wings in wing backed armchairs were understood to be to prevent drafts in old houses from reaching ones upper body or to protect the delicate skin of gentrified ladies from the heat of a roaring fire.

A good quality armchair with super lines, gagging to be personalised.
