The very decorative painted and lacquered centre table, having a cartouche rectangular top with canted corners in turquoise, to a gold painted dentil frieze on four volute legs with acanthus crestings and scrolled feet, the legs picked out in green, red and gold, the table made up of eighteenth century elements and surviving from northern Italy.

The table is in very good overall condition; there is not a great deal of movement or fragility and there are no major flaws or deficiencies to note. There is a consistent craquelure to the lacquered painted surfaces as photographed, with no losses to the carved extremities. The legs appear to be of eighteenth century making with the top added later and married in.

A wonderfully colourful and decorative table, and a versatile one at that, which could be also be used as a console.
