The duck egg blue painted side chair having a pierced back profusely carved with oak leaves, flowers and acorns with a serpentine front, chequerboard seat, and naturalistically carved legs. surviving from the zeniths of the nineteenth century and of Swiss, black forest origin.

The chair is stable and there is only a little movement in the joints being structurally sound with the paint being twentieth century. We believe it to be of oak.

By the end of the 1800s when this piece was made Swiss wood carvers became world renowned and featured at many international exhibitions and Black Forest carvings became a symbol of luxury and wealth.

A pretty example that would work well in a hallway or bathroom.
