The late Victorian period three-seater sofa, at seven feet long, having the original upholstered carpet moquette in madder rose/ peacock blue and gold patterning to a jewelled ruby fuchsia pink velvet ground, the whole with a rolled top, scrolled and flared arms and rope piping, to good ebonised front legs and large brass wheel castors to rear sabre legs, the whole surviving from the zeniths of nineteenth century England.

In pleasing condition, as a whole, the sofa is ready to use. The springs still sit up well and it can be used as is. There is only one section of the carpet upholstery that needs attention to the right seat area and we have can this rectified with our upholster by backpatching and making good the loose threads. Please enquire first if you would like this service. Overall it is presented in super condition considering the age. One of the castors needs re-adjusting which we will administer before sale.

In a really wonderful and rare colour and a particularly large size for its type.
