The charming early 20thc hand crank or wind musical box, of pressed metal to a brass and porcelain handle, and with a paper image of a young girl wearing a red ribbon to the facing side, the flanks with impressed lyres, the whole in working order and surviving from the first decade of the twentieth century.

In working order the sound is sweet and evocative. The porcelain handle is a little loose but this aside there are no flaws. It is marked 644 to the underside.

Utterly beguiling.
