The T-shaped oval fronted button with hand carved decorative lobed cross motif is in original condition.

The button is in excellent condition being complete and in tact with loop and has a wonderful even patination.

In the 14th century, buttons were used to achieve the popular tightly fitting clothing.

A scarce type of button in superb order, and a fascinating object of ordinary medieval everyday life.
