Painted in oils on board in the impressionist style and presented in a gadrooned and gilded modern frame with signature lower left, the painting depicts revellers amongst a bustling fairground, figures seated to the foreground with carousel, Ferris wheel, helter skelter and other stalls to the background against a blue sky backdrop scattered with fluffy clouds.

The condition is superb; the frame is contemporary and thus is in perfect order whilst the painting itself suffers no flaws.

Little is known about the artist aside from being born at the turn of the century, but we do know they were actively painting up to at least 1974, and always in oils.

Never the less, this breezy impasto is to be thoroughly enjoyed for its buoyancy; the flagrant use of colour and the sheer joy and pleasure of the fairground that it manifests.
