The Victorian period drop arm three-seater, or generous two seater sofa, at six feet long, having the original upholstered carpet moquette velour in a burnt orange ground with madder rose/amber/lavender and gold patterning, the whole with scrolled barrel arms  and rope piping, to turned beehive front legs and castors to rear sabre legs and the whole surviving from the zeniths of nineteenth century England.

In decent and sound condition, the sofa has survived pretty well in its ripe old age though has obviously been well loved. The springs still sit up well and it can be used as is. The drop arm functions as it should with a small tear beneath the mechanism as photographed. We have administered some stich repairs and it has been cleaned. The castors are replacements and of good quality. The original orange colour has faded to a more burnt amber with hints of green.

Always much loved, and hard to find in a three-seater version, a real bohemian beauty of a sofa.
