Date: c.1840
Diameter: 14 inches
The round face having hand painted roman numerals and digits with winding holes and two vacant subsidiary dials on an ivory ground having a mirrored pair of colourful nightingale birds amongst flora painted to the center.
Once having been the face of a long case clock, this dial is in as found condition and has not been cleaned or restored in any way, thus retaining its charms as a decorative piece of art. There are blemishes commensurate with age. To the reverse the face still has the four pins present. There is a makers name to the dial but it is now too faded to read.
A particularly pretty example with the avian theme.
