The stem footed treen ecclesiastical donations pedestal bowl, of tazza form, the top hand painted to the outer rim with the words ‘Gift with God’s Love ; From St. Philip Parish’, the text in yellow and white to a blue hoop, the whole surviving form the second quarter of the twentieth century.
The bowl is in good vintage order with expected wear to the right places and no restoration or damages. It isn’t perfectly symmetrical and has some staining and wear as per the photographs.
This may have originated from St Philip & St James a Church Of England Church in Bentley, near Doncaster. It was obviously crafted by a local tradesman and as such it has a wholesome folk art feel because of this.
