The early twentieth century pierced scrollwork cast iron base, taken from a grand façade or gateway and adapted to a contemporary base, the whole of good large size and with superb patina to the original black paintwork, to a later stepped space grey base.

The lamp has French wiring currently and would need to be re-wired to suit and PAT tested. It was last purchased in Paris, France some 25 years ago. The shade is in decent order and is well proportioned to the piece itself but could obviously be changed to suit. There are no damages, just minor cosmetic wear. The original paint has now worn beautifully and flaked with age giving it a super texture.

Probably a unique lamp and a very decorative one at that.
