An arts and crafts hanging hall lantern, constructed of punched brass in a tapering square form, the sides each with a bold oval panel, glazed with frosted glass, below an architectural top with riveted brass triangular mounts. The lantern is supported by a linked chain that terminates in a sinuous foliate ceiling rose, with an electric cable for connecting to the mains. The lantern is in very good condition, the brass has a wonderful colour and shine, whilst retaining an original patina; and there are few, if any, dints or areas of tarnish. The lantern has been fully rewired with new black silk covered flex and earthed to current safety standards and is in perfect working order ready to use.

Simple, yet honestly constructed, this lantern carries many striking elements typical of the arts and crafts style: the punched brass is artisan and hand-crafted in feel and appearance, while the bold oval panels and frosted glass ensure that when illuminated, this lantern emits a really beautiful and warm glow.
