The painted solid pine estate or kitchen cupboard in original untouched condition, fitted with two short drawers above a pair of paneled cupboard doors, on a plinth base, having the original turned knob handles and embossed metal ratchet handles, the carcass still having the original taupe painted finish, survives from the zeniths of the Victorian period.

The cupboard shows some rather attractive wear and tear to its paintwork with scuffing commensurate with its age, the paintwork more worn in some places than others, though not contrived and of a desirable appearance. The top has some gauges, paint splatters and groove marks from heavy us but proves attractive. Structurally she is very sound and built solidly and all her handles are original and the draws all run smooth. The top section of the backboard has been replaced with a later chipboard and there are runners inside that would have held a shelf which is now lacking. We have only cleaned her inside and given the piece a light wax to the outer paintwork to preserve it.

A very useful, versatile and attractive piece of period furniture with paintwork to die for.
