A Desirable Mid 20thC Vintage Coca-Cola Enamel Circular 'Button' Advertising Sign; 'Drink Coca-Cola'

SOLD

Origin: American
Period: Mid Twentieth Century
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1955
Diameter: 14 inches

Showing the famous Coca-Cola logo to the center in the wonderful Spencerian Script font type the pressed steel circular ‘button’ shaped sign is unrestored and in original condition that would have perhaps hung at a gas station in the USA.

Ready to display the sign is in good overall condition though with some areas of rust to the edges and one very small spot to the center, giving the piece some feeling of age and authenticity and the overall patina is pleasing.

Introduced in 1886, by John Pemberton in Columbus, Georgia., Coca-Cola has gone from strength to strength ever since. Currently, Coca-Cola items are among the most popular on the collectors market due to the ever-enduring appeal of the brand as the ‘most refreshing drink in the world’.

A sign that would look truly superb in the modern kitchen of today bringing with it the unmistakable tang of the 1950s.
