In typically bold font, the standard issue size form 543 NI headed poster reading ‘Notice to Dockworkers’, with explanatory text beneath warning of that ‘all persons liable to health, pensions or unemployment insurance are required, under the above acts, to produce their employers proper Health and Pensions insurance contribution cards and unemployment books for the current period, at the time of entering the employment’, signed off by the Welsh Board of Health, Cathays Park, Cardiff.

Condition is fair to good; there is some creasing where the poster has been folded prior to being framed, now glazed and presented in a simple black frame.

The Welsh Board of Health in Cardiff opened in 1938 until 1964 when the building became the home of the National Assembly for Wales.

This merely being a day to day notice, it is actually quite a rare survival and therefore proves to be ephemera in its purest form whilst also remaining boldly decorative.
