A Handsome 19thC Circular Painted Grandfather Clock Dial

SOLD

Origin: English
Period: Late Nineteenth Century
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1890
Diameter: 13 inches

The round face having hand painted roman numerals with winding holes on an ivory ground.

Once having been the face of a long case clock, this dial is in as found condition and has not been cleaned or restored in any way, thus retaining its charms as a decorative piece of art. The top face appears to be braced to an underface so there are essentially two dials present. There are blemishes commensurate with age. To the reverse the face still has the three pins present.

Of a timeless design this antique dial proves a wonderfully decorative and beautiful antique whether as part of a working clock or not.
