The large primitive oil-cloth hand-stitched doll, with remains of painted features and textured hair, painted hands and feet with stitched toes and hands surviving from the zeniths of the nineteenth century.

The condition of the doll is evocative and interesting, with a beautiful patina to the cloth and general discolouration and fade; he is complete though he is clearly worn and with some damage as per the photographs.

The style of this doll is similar to those made by Gussie Decker or Izannah Walker, who were both American.

A large and evocative doll.
