Of appealing proportions, the Regency period parcel gilt and ebonised pine set of three tiered open graduating waterfall shelves having a beautifully decorated shaped surmount and turned supports with gilded shelf fronts, the whole on raised on bun feet.

The piece is in very good overall structural condition and there are no issues with stability. There is some light paint distress but the whole displays a pleasing decorative feel. The bun feet are original, with the rear pair possibly later whilst elsewhere there appears to be no signs of alterations or later additions.

Wall racks or shelves such as this were popular along with large waterfall bookcases in the Regency period, this being a hybrid of the two, though most of them were far plainer and didn’t have such a well decorated surmount pediment as this one possesses. As such this is amongst the most attractive and finest example you’re likely to find.

A very versatile and undeniably pretty piece of Regency period furniture.
