Of dainty proportions, the beautifully foxed ebonised mirror with a gilded slip to a ripple reeded frame having the original heavy mercury mirror glass plate and surviving from the high Victorian period.

The mirror is in very attractive condition with the ebonised finish with some chipping and small losses. The original heavy plate glass is partially clear and in good order with two or three areas showing the most foxing, giving the glass some welcome character. To the reverse it retains its original papered back panel. The mirror has not been restored or repaired in any way and it remains structurally true and sound, and thus remains true to its original condition.

The shape and size of this mirror point to it possibly being used in a milliners or shop format.

Showing just the right doses of character, age and imperfection and its weight which is testament to its quality.
