The high Victorian gilt gesso oval wall mirror in distressed overall condition, of good size at three feet, the later bevelled thick glass mirror plate in good order, the outer frame with gadrooned border to a central floral cartouche and floral sprays to a tied ribbon, the whole surviving from the third quarter of nineteenth century England.

The mirror has just about as much character and patination as you could hope for without being too far gone. It hasn’t thankfully been regilded or badly painted over and retains much charm with the pink bole showing through underneath in places. As the mirror plate is early twentieth century it is still very much a useable mirror. There are several losses to the gesso as photographed.

Very much of the Miss Havisham stable.
