The highly sculptural Brazilian centre table, having a tapering rectangular inset azure blue glass top to three angular conforming feet, the whole surviving from the early 1970s and from the TV Globo Headquarters, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The table is in very good overall condition; there is not a great deal of movement or fragility and there are no major flaws or deficiencies to note. There is commensurate wear to the timber which is a Brazilian native wood.

According to Brazilian national and international statistical data, Globo is one of the largest media companies in the world, and produces around 2,400 hours of entertainment and 3,000 hours of journalism per year in Brazil. Through its network, the broadcaster covers 98.6% of Brazil's territory. Recognized for its production quality, the company has already been presented with 14 international Emmys.

The design of this table is similar to tables from the 1940s in Italy by the likes of Ico Parisi and Pietro Chiesa with the conical feet construction playing with organic and angular shapes as you’d expect to see in the best Italian mid-century modern design. It could equally be used as a hall, writing, dining or console table.

A hugely striking table that demands all of your attention.
