A Beautiful 19th Century Floral Painted Pine Chest of Drawers

SOLD

Origin: English
Period: Victorian
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1870
Height: 41 inches
Width: 26 inches
Depth: 14.5 inches

Of small proportions, the chest, with original Victorian period hand painted decoration on an oatmeal ground, adorned to the sides, front and top with alternating floral rose sprays in pinks and greens having two short over three long drawers sitting on bracket feet with original brass bat wing drop handles.

The draws glide smoothly, the whole in a spectacular original condition, with only a repair to one of the feet to note. The paint, consummate with age, has quite a few areas of flaking, though we think this is really rather nice.

With the mid nineteenth century paintwork still very much singing true, this chest is as original as they come. Très chic.
