Painted in oils on canvas and presented in a wooden frame with signature lower right, the picture shows a vibrant fairground scene on a beautiful summers day, with children enjoying a swing carousel in the foreground, British flags billowing in the background.

Wooding has captured the joy and innocent fun of the fairground with the bold colours, motion of the carousel, bunting, architecture and children’s hair caught in the wind.

Born in 1969, Tony Wooding is known mostly as a wildlife artist and lives and works in his studio in North Wales. He became a professional artist at the age of eighteen and his reputation has since spread to include both the UK, Europe and beyond. Tony says of his work “there are many subjects I have not had time to work on yet, I have got a few ideas I hope to complete in the future. I am always looking for new challenges within my art”. One gets the feeling this subject matter was a new challenge, and one we think Tony rose to with aplomb.

This is a delightful contemporary picture capturing a vivid moment centered on an appealing subject, by an artist whose stock is certainly rising from an already well-respected portfolio.
