SOLD

Date: c.1780-1800
Height: 36.25”

The George III mahogany carcass of generous proportions with a fabulous plum colour having a typical Georgian arrangement of two short drawers over three long, each being deal lined and cockbeaded and retaining the original brass swan neck drop handles, the whole sitting on bracket feet.

The condition is lived in and sound and it hasn’t been repolished which is always nice. The drawers glide smoothly, the whole proves sturdy and in good original order. The top has some old blackened scratches and water stains, and it is lacking the oval escutcheons with the brass keyholes remaining. Two of the locks are original. one with bead repair on upper surface of drawer, lock in bottom drawer replaced.

A real classic displaying a proud un-meddled with colour and crafted from fine timbers.
