The good quality country house open armchair with a mahogany carcass, the serpentine shaped back with scroll arms above a padded seat, on square chamfered legs united by an h-stretcher, the whole retaining its nineteenth century bottle green velvet upholstery and surviving from George III period England.

In very original condition, and with an excellent rich colour, the chair is stable with some movement to the arms but not excessively. The upholstery is worn, as pictured, and we think, fabulously evocative, but could re-upholstered if so desired.

Oh so reminiscent of country house capers.
