The canvas and leather trunk, warranted Ford's, with hinged opening lid to reveal trader's label and apple green pinstripe interior with chrome inserts, the whole having a plethora of evocative traveling labels still present, painted initials .B.O.V and original wooden rails to the base, survives from the first quarter of the twentieth century.

The roomy trunk is in entirely original condition with the handles, stitching, capped corners and studs are all sound, whilst the nickel-plated lock and catches are still in working order. The only condition defects to note is the loss of a buckle to one of the leather straps, whilst the interior has heavy but consistent staining.

Little is known of case makers and suitcase manufactures H.LPullin of London Road, Tunbridge Wells though this would have been a rather luxurious case in its day. The labels vary in date, for example there is one for Lloyd Triestino which was formed in 1919 and were most prevalent in the 1930s.

‘Chocs away Snowy’…and all that.
