The rectangular box in beautifully aged walnut with a patina that is full of character, having a satinwood lozenge shaped escutcheon and further lozenge shaped exotic fruit and softwood motif to the top. There is a nice inscription to the inner lid that reads; ‘Maggie Williams, Prize for Needlework, August 26th 1904’

Once a sewing box with a removable top tray, this box is now paper and suede lined, making it perfect for keepsakes, jewellery or letters. The lock is defunct, and the base has been recently relined with green felt baize.

Once the perfect prize, now a perfect gift.
