The framed mid twentieth century coleopterists’ collection housing a good and varied collection of beetles with approximately 57 specimens from across the globe, pin mounted on a buff coloured ground and framed and glazed in an accessible, hinged oak collectors case.

The three dimensional case is in sound structural order with tarnishes expected with age. The specimens themselves are in mostly good order with 90% remaining in tact and pinned, though with the usual amount of loose dust in and around the ensemble.

The examples within the case are varied and are native and non-native to Britain with stags, chafers and large Rhinoceros beetles to name but a few.

A small but attractive sample of the circa 350,000 species of beetles on Earth but a nice change from the Lepidoptera monotony.
