The unusual spoon back armchair being button-back upholstered in bubblegum pink velvet, the sprung seat and back with an innovative sprung reclining motion when pressure is applied, to a tasseled base and having oak turned front and shaped back legs each with unusual castors of glass spheres in brass claw surrounds, the whole surviving from the third quarter of nineteenth century France.

In good overall condition, the chairs upholstery is fairly recent so is sound and in good overall order and the springs are all sound with the unusual castors operating as they should and the backs spring mechanism also working.

It is likely that this chair was made bespoke for a discerning client and it probably unique in that respect.

A real stand out, both in colour and execution and also for its unusual quirks.
