Having a wonderful balance between geometric and floral elements this is a heavily stylized piece of good solid colour and design. The central floral motif is similar to a sunburst icon of a Kazak rug with the rest of the central field set upon three grounds, red in the centre with a buff middle ground and again returning to red as an outer field. A lovely indigo accent colour highlights the central medallion and then return within the border.Well drawn by a skilled weaver, truly a piece of tradition and craftsmanship.

Knotted in the mountainous region in the west of Iran, Tuserkans are produced with particularly sturdy, shiny wools with cotton wefts and warps. Designs are typically geometric with diamond-shaped medallions decorated with very stylized floral elements. The bright, warm colors can include midnight blue, dusty pinks, blacks, creams, and sky blues.
