The pale slate grey ground with three stylized floral medallions, two highlighted in spearmint green, the central motif in charcoal, and the unusual border in four colour serpents.

Usually featuring geometric patterns and earth tones, Goravan Persian rugs are tribal rugs hand-woven in a small village near the carpet-making centers of Heriz and Tabriz.. Their design, color and quality are almost identical to the rugs woven in Heriz.

Gorevan is a town situated below Tabriz beside Lake Urima and carpets made there have a Ghiordes knot and are coarsely woven with approximately thirty to forty knots per square inch. The design is often one large geometrical medallion with smaller similar medallions within.

This is an unfussy and vivid runner with a soft pile and colour scheme that work in total harmony.
