A Cracking 19thC White Painted Cast Iron & Pine Table

SOLD

Origin: British
Period: Late Nineteenth Century
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1890
Height: 26.75 inches
Diameter: 23.25 inches

The circular scrub pine top over a white painted cast iron tripod base made up of rope twists and scrollwork, survives from the late nineteenth century.

The top is later but has certainly been present since the early twentieth century and has a fair amount of wear and weathering, having been placed outside. The paint to the cast iron base is flaking and has rust commensurate with age.

Although intended for exterior use this wonderfully evocative piece would make a superb lamp table, especially sat inside upon floorboards or stone.
