A Decorative Painted Pine Column c.1900

SOLD
Origin: English
Period: Early Twentieth Century
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1900-1930
Height: 48 inches
Diameter at Top: 8.75 inches

The very decorative painted pine column graduating to the base showing several layers of old flaked paint with various shades of ivories, creams and whites with a ring turned top survives from the first quarter of the twentieth century.

The column is in fair to good overall order, it has suffered knocks and scuffing to its base so there is paint flaking to the whole but overall it remains in fairly good decorative condition, pleasing in that it has not been restored in any way. The base and top are a little soft from weathering from the elements with some losses but she does remain stable enough to support a good bust or sculptural piece.

Sourced from the English south coast this piece has been positioned outside probably at the seaside for a good number of years.

Perfect for displaying your favourite work of art.
