SOLD

Origin: French

Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1870-90
Height: 8.25 inches
Width: 6 inches square (at tops)

The gold painted flared and tapering square bodied jardinières on cast brass claw feet and square plinth laurel leaf bases, having classical decoration to the sides depicting male and female roman figures in robes holding wreaths with lyres and trumpet regalia adorning the other sides to each.

The jardinières have not been restored nor cleaned and therefore remain in desirable original condition. They are structurally sound and have wear to the paint commensurate with age.

More commonly found as singles, this desirable pair, with the nineteenth century paintwork still very much apparent, are highly decorative, beautiful, functional and very French.
