SOLD

The pine case, with lift off air tight glazed lid and black cotton surround, displaying an array of sixty specimens of butterflies.

The case is in good condition and can easily be wall mounted by simply adding wall hooks, whilst the specimens themselves remain in good order.

Examples include both the White and Red Admiral, the Peacock, Small Pearl-Bordered Fritillary, Brimstones, Marbled Whites, Grizzled Skipper,  Scotch Argus, Grayling, Large and Small Whites, Orange Tips, Small Tortoiseshells and Duke of Burgundys with others that we have failed to identify.

This proves a good early collection, which is easy on the eye, and would be of interest to a lepidopterist or those of us wanting an original decorative effect.
