The pressed card, composition and beech adult life sized male form mannequin having articulated upper arms and adjustable swivel waist survives from the second quarter of the twentieth century.

The mannequin is pretty much complete. The feet are tatty and have some loss to them with the soles reinforced with newer card so whilst the mannequin does stand unaided it does require a little encouragement. There are knocks, small tears and general wear to the torso most of which are wholly consistent with the vintage. Other than this there is a dent to one side and three or four pierced holes. He remains very decorative and essentially sound.

Articulated mannequins were eventually made to closely mimic human activities and in 1925 the display industry changed with modern abstract mannequins closely following the Art Deco style.

Just the sort of versatile decorative effect that you can place anywhere and it changes the tone of the room completely.
