The well-balanced square face having hand painted roman numerals, the corners with rose posies, with an imposing country house depicted center amongst woodland and a figure beneath on the ivory ground dial with winding holes and spinning wheel. There is an indistinct makers name and verso there are three pins present.
Once having been the face of a long case clock, this dial is in as found condition and has not been cleaned or restored in any way, thus retaining its charms as a decorative piece of art. There is an even spread of craquelure to the face with wear commensurate with age.
Whether used to decorate a wall with a whimsical artwork or as a substitute face for a long case, this dial proves a wonderfully decorative and beautiful antique either way.
