Origin: English
Period: Early 20thC
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1900-15
Height: 42.5”
Width: 36.75”
Depth: 18.5”
The early twentieth century period pine carcass of relatively large size, showing the original period dark brown/black stained finish and having an arrangement of five drawers, two short over three long, with the original pressed metal shaped drop ring handles of art nouveau influence to each, the whole sitting on large onion bun feet, surviving from the first decade or so of the twentieth century.
The drawers glide relatively smoothly, the whole proves sturdy and in good original order. The staining is nicely worn giving the piece a solid decorative feel. The onion bun feet are all original though have some losses to their tips from where the chest has been moved around. We have waxed her to retain the current patina and finish.
Good value for your decorative buck.
