An attractive and wonderfully tactile 12 inch folding rule with white metal pin, hinges and mounts, the numerals and imperial graduation marks incised in black on one side, the other side left blank. There is an indistinct maker's name perhaps 'J. Barrie? & sons. Maker's' on one side.Arguably worth more as an artefact now than as a functional tool, this is nonetheless a finely crafted rule; created when tools were built to last, imbued with a quality and durability rarely found in similar items of today.
