SOLD

Height: 37” or 17” at seat
Width: 60”
Depth: 28”

The Victorian period two-seater sofa or settee having the original upholstered carpet moquette velour in a navy ground with madder rose/amber and yellow patterning, the whole with barrel arms and pom-pom tassels and rope piping, to turned front legs and castors to rear sabre legs and the whole surviving from the zeniths of nineteenth century England.

In fair condition, the sofa has survived pretty well in its ripe old age though has obviously been well loved. There is wear to the upholstery with two small areas of loss to the rear section of the seat, and the reverse is shot; we are able to recover the reverse in a fabric of the buyers choosing at cost. The springs still sit up well and it can be used as is. It may benefit from a clean. The front castors are original and present as are the tassels and pom poms.

Always hard to find, especially in this lovely blue shade and very easy to sell.
