SOLD
Origin: English
Period: Edwardian
Provenance: Unknown
Date: c.1900-15
Height: 37 inches
Width: 30 inches
Depth: 30 inches (each & at extremities)
The comfortable and compact Victorian period armchairs, one with flared wingbacked sides, each being upholstered in floral carpet moquette with a ruby red plush ground with multi-coloured piping, the wholes well sprung on an oak carcass sitting on well turned oak legs with original ceramic castors.
In good overall condition, the chairs have survived well and we have administered a professional clean, re-spinging and tightening of the frames to each. There is wear to the upholstery, particularly to the arms of the wing backed chair though the carpet upholstery is original. The sides and reverse to each has been replaced with the same material as the originals bore. The springing is in super order and there are both structurally sound with the legs and castors all operational and sturdy.
Good quality, tres chic, huge fun.
