The quality shaped heavy cast iron sign having a black ground the white lettering reading ‘Ground Under Repair’ survives from the early to middle part of the twentieth century.
Ready to display, the sign is in good overall condition though with some areas of rust to the edges and discolouration though only commensurate with its use.
Although we are unsure of the specific ground that needed repairing, we believe that the sign came from a large estate where footfall became somewhat of a problem.
Place in ones garden and hop back on the golf cart, it’s going to be a long day.
