An Early 19thC Gilt Mahogany Framed Country House Wall Mirror

SOLD

Origin: English
Period: Early / Mid Nineteenth Century

Date: c.1820-40
Height: 30 inches

The mahogany framed wall mirror having the original rectangular lead glass plate, shaped apron and fret cut pediment.

There is a section of loss to the scroll pediment and the frame is slightly loose in places, the original plate with heavy foxing. The mirror is still ready and able to hang and be admired.

More of a decorative piece than a functional one, this is one of those mirrors you find lurking in a creaky country house that has a thousand stories of wet Labradors and strong cigars, to tell.
